Hello Friends!

Let's us start to discuss this new and amazing topic-
"Life: Is It Optimistic or Pessimistic?"
This question comes in everyone's mind at some point.
Is my life going good?
OR
Why is my life having so many problems?
OR
Is Life optimistic or pessimistic?
All these questions and many more arise in your mind. This is small attempt to answer these questions.
My answer is to these questions is very simple: Life can be both, optimistic and pessimistic or it can neither be any of these things.
Confused?
Let me explain.
If you read my answer to the question carefully you'll realize that our life, may it seem optimistic or pessimistic, totally depends on our perspective towards life. It totally depends upon how we perceive life and react towards the situations that arise in life.
Life is always filled with both kind-happiness and sorrow, good and bad, moral or immoral, etc. We cannot expect life to be just happy with all the good things coming your way. This not how life work. Life surprises you and keep you on your feet. There is no way you can guess what life will offer to you. So stop wasting time in guessing. Happiness and sorrow are like two sides of same coin called life. Let me explain this in more understanding way by telling you a story.
"Once upon a time there was a 25 year old girl named Sarah. She was dating a guy who was 2 years younger than her. His name was John. One day they both decided to test their love. To do so, they came up with the idea of living together. On the day of moving in together Sarah was very happy. Her happiness knew no bounds. In her mind, she was already finalizing her wedding. On the other hand, John though he agreed to the idea earlier was having second thoughts. He still moved in though. They rented a studio apartment in the heart of the city and started living together.
Initially few weeks were really good. But happiness didn't last long. Soon they both started to realize that it is a mistake. Sarah being the adult among st the two, although felt so but was giving the relationship a new chance every single day. She was hoping that John will realize her love for him and will start to be better. On the contrary, John was deliberately doing annoying things to irritate Sarah. Even he didn't realize how his motive shifted from loving her to running away from her.
One fine day, Sarah finished her work early and was coming home from her work. On the way walking towards the Subway, she saw a lottery store. For a reason unknown she felt a dire urge to buy a lottery ticket. She had bought lottery tickets before but never had any luck with it. Giving up for the urge, she bought one and returned home. She reached home, opened the door of the apartment and was horrified to see her boyfriend John with other woman. Sarah was very angry. She stood shocked at the door and tears rolled down her eyes. John was also taken aback with her earlier than usual arrival. He had realized that he did a grave mistake and started apologizing to her. After few seconds, Sarah mustered the courage to shout. She argued and fought with John. Finally she decided to end the relationship and threw John and the other woman out of her apartment. Sarah's heart was broken and she was in immense pain. She cried and cried her heart out. Eventually late in the night she fell asleep.
Next morning, she got up with a heavy heart. Her home was empty but her heart was filled with sorrow. She sat on the sofa in the living room and switched on the television. The channel that appeared was giving some information on the lottery result. Sarah suddenly realized that she had bought a lottery ticket yesterday but totally forgot about it due to the fight. As the results were being announced she held the ticket in her hand. As every number started to match her heart started to race. Within a matter of seconds, her sorrow drained out from her heart and refilled with joy and happiness. She had won a lottery of 1 million dollars US. She couldn't believe her luck. Finally she was happy again. "
This short story gives us the perspective that life has both joy and sorrow. They come and go but never stay permanently. So the one who is happy today is bound to be in sorrow tomorrow and one who is in sorrow today will eventually be happy tomorrow.
Hence life is not entirely optimistic and pessimistic. It can never be either. It's your opinion of your life makes it optimistic or pessimistic.
